Battery to ESC Connectors

Postby Paul C on Wed Jan 20, 2010 9:21 pm

Guys

I've got some new lipos that need new connectors fitting as they come with the MT60's fitted.

The ESC that they will be used with is currently fitted with a Deans, however I've never used the Deans and also have a selection of alternatives.

So.............. If you were doing the same which of the following would you use ? also which of the selection below can handle the most current ?

Choices;

1) Stick with Deans
2) Change to Graupner G3.5mm http://www.parkaero.com/g35mm-gold-conn ... -185-p.asp
3) Change to E Flite Connectors http://www.parkaero.com/e-flite-ec3-bat ... -168-p.asp

Cheers
Paul

Should be plenty, what I don't like about Deans is trying to separate them, I put two loose connectors together earlier just in my hands and couldn't get them apart for love nor money without reaching for the tools :o

That can't be a good thing as no doubt the only way at the field will be to wrench on the wires :(

Blob of hot glue where the wires are soldered to the plug give additional grip area :)

There is a knack at disconnecting but that is why I like them, I know that they ain't coming undone to easy, like if the battery falls out or vibration.
