Great shots dave, seems to be going well. I flew mine today at work in the workshop and first impressions are very good, i didnt think at first it was going to be a slow flyer but how wrong was i, 3d is very tight and as dave has said it will torque roll in the hover but right aileron applied will stop it, i held it vertical to launch it straight into the hover and you can feel it wanting to roll left with the torque  , im running 40% expo on ailerons and 30% ele and rudder at the moment and settings on the speccy ds6i are at 100% going to fly this a couple more times before a living room vid will be up :D But im glad i went bnf as the 150 packs are a necessity for serious 3d.

Mike

Considering how bad my employees eyes are, I should be happy that some are in the frame...dozens were not :!:
Like you say it flys light, I flew it again last night in the dark for a couple of friends and both commented how floaty it was!
Not flown it inside as without catching it there is no landing area in the unit and the thin foam would dent with all the hard edges lying around! Out side a couple of out of control landings have resulted in no damage...no weight, no momentum!

Just got back from maidening, took it down to my local sports hall and managed to blag my way in for 15 minutes to try it out. :D

I flew it on high rates straight off without the airbrakes, have to say it is much better than I expected it to be, it'll harrier upright and inverted all day long was very impressed with that, especially the inverted stuff because that where I need practice on my bigger stuff, does need quite a bit of rudder to get a nice tight turn in but not unstable at all.

Rolling circles seem easy, it almost does them by itself, by far the easiest model I have for doing that maneuver with! I found hovering a little tricky, it does want to torque roll quite a bit, but with a little right aileron it does stop ok.

I though it'd be really sensitive due to the weight, but can't put my finger on why its not...the rudder seems a prime example here and you do need quite a bit in to turn, knife edge too also requires more rudder than I thought it would but having never flown a dedicated indoor model before its probably because I'm not used to it.

I got about 5 minute flight times out of both batteries and was pleased with that, I have ordered 5 x 1s180 15C packs so that should give me a total of 7 and that way I should be able to just keep flying continuously, and maybe just a little more power, hovering toward the end of a new pack requires almost full power, but I can live with that. ;)

Quite a resilient little thing too, lost orientation at one point and went straight into the wall and it fell to the floor, but no damage. :D

All in all, very happy, e-flite certainly do have a winner! :D

Rolling circles are probably due the aileron differential. The Shockie Pitts was the same, did them on it's own!

Like you, I'm surprised how good it is.

One thing I think you'll have trouble if you fly back to back batteries. Its a little motor and it will get hot...it may die quickly.

You need two :D

More experiments today inside..as it's raining.
Lots of stuff to hit in here, but its very controllable, shots going for a catch and just prop hanging. flying around in here it gets a little rocky in high alpha, but still OK.

I think its great!!

Anyone got a view on how much wind these things will handle? I know it's really an indoor model, but most of my flying opportunities are going to be outside and I don't want to maiden it in marginal conditions.
.
I love my own posts so much it's scary

I would say 0-5Mph, the 5-10Mph might get a bit bouncy, say that you like it bouncy don't you?
