50cc and 100cc electric setups info request

Postby Tom.Laird on Thu Oct 05, 2017 9:38 pm

Hi guys,
I am looking into options for 50cc and 100cc electric setups and would like some details on what is being used at the moment please? I'm looking for model, motor, esc, battery setup, flight duration and flight type i.e. 3D or schedule etc. I'll post a summary (without names) when I'm fiished to give something back.
thanks
Tom

Tom

I was flying MacGregor's Pilot RC Edge 540V3 92" electric on 12s 5000 Overlander 70c packs. It had their Dualsky GA 6000 set up on a 24 x 10 Menz wood.
Power was great, flight time 6-7mins depending on throttle use.

EF Edge 88in with Hacker Q80 cc120 12s 5000 40c packs 24x12th Mejzlik prop 6/8 mins depending how hard you fly it with 14/26% left in the packs
Mad power, have same with a DLE 55 Zimmerman and a 21/11.5N 3 blade and the Q80 is way way more power
have the same with a ZDZ 60 JMB 24x12th 2 blade and the Q80 is still more power
Xoar 24x12 bit less power but 7/9 mins flight times
Sebart Sukhoi 2.6m Hacker A150 Hacker/jeti 200amp 12s 10000 40c packs 27x12th Mejzlik
9.5 min flights + landing and around 20+ % left
would try a CC 160 in the next plane as a bit of lag with the H/J controller
lots of power
both use around 380 mah a flight where the IC are getting on for double
the Edge I use 2x 1200 mah packs and the 1800 in the 2.6m Sukhoi
I have a case with 2 x Hyperion 0720I Duo running on 24v and that keeps me going all day if need more I can plug 2 more of the same into the case and charge 8 packs at a time
I never charge more than 1c as never felt I needed to
have loads of chargers so that works for me and 16x6s 5000 packs which I do my best to look after :D
Hope that's of a bit of use

Hi Tom,

I can second the Dualsky setup! I have a 3DHS 50cc Slick with the GA6000.8 and the 130aHV ESC and it really is very good! Running it on 12s packs (2 x 6s 5000mah) and a Mejzlick 24x12

Here it is with Tom on the sticks...

Cheers, Dave.

Hi Tom,

AJ 93'' Laser
Dualsky GA6000.8
CC 160HV
Mej 24 x 10
Turnigy 40c 5000mah 6s packs x 2

With all of the above I have around 6000 watts at my disposal = about 300 watt per lb. Flight times are anything up to 7mins depending on how hard it's flown.

Cheers,

Mark.
