Pilot Extra 330SC 40%

Postby Ally Young on Sun Mar 24, 2019 8:06 am

Hi Folks,

Over the last we while I have been putting together a new model. It is now almost ready to fly, I just need to spend some time setting up the radio settings. Hopefully when our site is a bit less wet under foot I will give it a whirl, maybe in the Easter hols.

Specifications are as follows: Pilot 40% Extra 330SC, DLE 170 with DLE rear exit cans, PT 30x12 HP Carbon prop, JR XG 11, JR PWM hub, 2x JR / DFA 812 BX receivers with telemetry and satellites, 4 X JR NX 8921 on elevator, 2x MacGregor MG 7245 HV on rudder, and 4 X MacGregor MG 7245 HV on ailerons and MacGregor MG 5921 HV on throttle.

Very nice Ally, really pretty scheme.

You've got plenty of elevator power there! I'm running 2 x 8921 on my H9 Suk although I'm not doing 3D with it.

Thanks guys.

Jon, I had 4 elevator servos in my Katana too as I do tend to push it a bit more in general 3D style flying and freestyle than in IMAC sequences. I might fly the Glenluce IMAC with it if I get enough time on it between now and then. It isn't an IMAC model really with those thick wings and big control surfaces, but it will still be better than me!
I've also gone for a 12" pitch prop for more general flying that the usual 13" pitch on IMAC models. I think a standard DLE 170 puffs a little bit too much on a 13" prop on big up lines and it runs on a bit on landing. The H9 Sukhoi is a great model, I've flown one with a DA 170 on pipes and it was excellent. I also had the smaller 80cc size one and it was superb too.

Hi Ally

I've got a DLE 170 in mine as well, with K&S pipes, goes like stink. I'm using a Mejz 28.5 x 12 3b which is a great combo, more than enough for Unlimited IMAC, I'm only really using full power on windy days and upline snaps. The H9 Suk is a great flying model!
