Great Days Flying

Postby miniman on Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:28 pm

Alex and I have been looking for a club where he can fly his larger models away from the trees. We love flying at Wellingborough where we have some great friends but practicing in a larger location allows for much more relaxed flying.

We have been over to the Ramsey MFC Warboys, near Huntingdon and have met with open arms by some great guys. They fly anything from Jets, through to Trainers, Including a strong groups of F3A and F5B pilots. They have effectivly three perfectly mowed grass strips two 230 mtr and a cross strip of 120 mtr.

Yesterday may have been cold, but it was a great day and even using the shorter 120Mtr strip landing is a breeze.

Alex Flew his Krill Sukhoi and his Cap that was kindly donated by Wavey, and had a ball. His confidence on the Krill now getting to the point where I am getting nervous.

Anyway here are a few pictures of the site and the strip is as long as the pictures look.

Looks good. What's their attitude like with 3D Peter ?

I'm still trying to work out a decent club - sadly, all the good ones seem to be about 1h15 away for me (including this one !)

Cheers,

Darren

They are happy with freestyle and all that goes with it, as ong as any prop hangs are not done right infront of the other pilots.

There is so much space there, you can drop back to the side of the flight line to prop hang.

The guys there seem genuine, we have not seen any stuck up or posh atitudes, just good friendly banter.

You guys are so lucky, a hut to keep warm as well....we have unmown fields & sheep sh1t to contend with, welcome to flying in the sticks. On a serious note, looks like a great club Peter.
