Acrylic silver

Postby sanputas on Wed Sep 21, 2016 3:18 pm

I am preparing to paint my butcher bird and I think in the end I will go for WarbirdColors but they dont seem to have silver paint.

I am planning on shooting the entire model with silver first so I can work on chipped edges and distressing later on once the model is painted.

Any recommendations on silver acrylic paints ? ( apart from Tamiya as they are meant to be for plastic models ) ?

Talk with Phil at FA, he's super talented on finishes. See what he uses.
I'd panel a few areas and paint black under the silver to give shades

Why go acrylic? If you really have to use acrylic then my question is not valid, but providing you have good safety sense and ventilation then cellulose is still great to work with plus you can get the silver finishes, including the "tints" better than acrylic.
I probably am going to get shot at but used properly cellulose is still a great paint.
